tempting, but I busted out my bass I haven't played in forever and noodled for a bit. Now I'm hunting down the mp3 of the song that got stuck in my head.
cooking can be creative, yes. But it's not a general creative outlet.
For example, last night at 11pm I wasn't about to go into the kitchen and whip something up just so I could let out creative energy. I wanted to write, or draw, or sculpt.
apparently my mother makes the best cheesecake in the world. Many people have told me this. I think it tastes like crap. Cheesecake and I just fundamentally don't get along, you're not going to be able to change it. I keep trying it now and then, and it's never worth eating.
*pats the Ry sympathetically* That's really the benefit of having a creative outlet that only needs pen and paper (theoretically). I am endlessly entertained.
Indeed. Realized that I wasn't going to get any better sitting on my thumbs and drawing the same things over and over. Practice= Nora not throwing her sketchbook across the room when she tries to draw something. OK, well, not after the practice itself. :)
Put it this way, no one can possibly get *worse* at drawing. So you can really only do yourself good.
Heh, I was just there this weekend (but you probably saw the post about that). *wiggles fingers* go to pearl...
Though if you're looking for brush pens, I'd *highly* recommend the ones you can find in your local Japanese neighborhood stationery stores (if Boston has such a thing). Otherwise I'd go for the Tombo pens-- their brushes are really fun to draw with, but a little big and wobbly for fine detail work.

Date: 2005-04-19 12:55 pm (UTC)Brewing beer is just like cooking, which I wouldn't exactly call a creative outlet.

Cooking is inextricably tied to eating.
