I picked up a remote flash trigger off ebay for about $25 shipped from Hong Kong. It's basically a really cheap radio transmitter and receiver with a couple of dip switches and 2 AAA batteries. You clip the transmitter onto your hotshoe and the receiver to your flash, and voila! Wireless flash triggering up to 30 meters away!
I really want a set of pocket wizards which will do ETTL etc. wirelessly instead of just dumb triggering, but at 1/10th the price?
Yes. I think this will do nicely.
Now that i know it'll work I just might pick up a second receiver for my old Sunpak flash so that I can trigger two at once. Double the pleasure, double the fun!
(Naphotomo08 is up to 16. woot!)

Date: 2008-11-13 05:05 am (UTC)yeah, the shot where I got the cat was crap, but it was amusing. I was setting up a shot in the bedroom with the lights off, and he wandered over to check out the blinky red light on the flash. What was I supposed ta do?

Date: 2008-11-13 02:04 pm (UTC)Getting my flash to work with it necessitated putting the flash into only one of its modes, a mode I've never used before. So I need to dig out the manual for my Sigma flash and do some reading.
