inahandbasketloaded up the Go program and beat it, 41-36.
That's the first time I managed to beat it.
I guess they were right, it's hard to teach a computer Go well enough to beat even a beginner.
edit: just found the difficulty slider, which was on the second easiest of 6 options.
oh well. ^_^

"Lose your first 100 games as quickly as possible, because you'll only start understanding the game after about that long."
