it has come to my attention that there are people in this world who have never read Neuromancer (William Gibson) before.
This is unacceptable, and I will make it my personal crusade to hunt down these people wherever they may be.
and maybe foist some more books upon them as the opportunity presents itself if they don't react badly to the initial dose of old skool cyberpunk.

Date: 2003-10-16 09:29 am (UTC)But no, I agree. Snow Crash > Neuromancer, but Neuromancer also required for fundamental cyberpunk reading. Past that, I think Gibson got suckier quicker, but Stephenson has a line of politics in his books that I hate, hate, hate.
