*edit*
hey look at me! I'm a dumbass!
this post was meant to go in the new
phillyyardsale community.
put it there now.
*sigh*
FIRST POST!
hehe...
this is my favorite yardsale score ever, from a yardsale on 47th street just south of baltimore ave. in the spring of 2003.

Orange velvet lapshade, and the thing is about 4 feet tall and 30-40 pounds. It's got 4 little lanterns hanging off of it, each with a light bulb (that doesn't light at the moment). Unfortunate the wiring inside is screwy, and last time I plugged it in I got a good 110 volts running through my body. whee!
but damn is it too cool. ^_^

Date: 2003-07-15 07:10 am (UTC)The only problem with this one is that it's REALLY hard to take the thing apart. Usually lamps unscrew really easily, but this one's a beast. If I could get it apart I could rewire it in my sleep. ;o)

Date: 2003-07-15 09:00 am (UTC)the story behind it is that the selling owner moved into her apartment with only that lamp and it's sister (same style and shade, different details, no lanterns) and NOTHING ELSE. one bag of clothes, no furniture or bed, just those two lamps.
I thought that was pretty cool. ;o)
