on the one hand, she was wholly unqualified and the idea of a stealth candidate for the supreme court is very unsettling

on the other hand, I feel kinda sorry for her and the way she was just raked across the coals. I mean, couldn't people have waited for her to have a hearing and then get voted down on her merits?

I don't think there's a lawyer in America who would turn down a nomination to the supreme court, no matter how unqualified they felt they were.

I'm qualified to be on the Supreme Court:

I can read. The constitution is in writing.

Though I think that the "able to read the constitution" part hasn't been enhforced very heavily in the past few decades, though.

yes, you meet the minimum stated qualifications in the constitution, thankfully those who make the nominations and vote on appointments are more discerning than that

I mean, look at the decisions they make.
