In other news, Meg brewed beer monday night, and tonight it blew the airlock out of the fermenter.

my guess is that people don't go to google and type in "porn".
most likely they go to xxx.com or something like that and just follow links/popups until they get somewhere they want to be.

Paris Hilton and Tara Reid are not porn stars. One has been in homemmade porn, and both are slutty, but slutty does not a porn star make.

I've always just gone straight to airlock, never had a problem.
This sucker has a ridiculous amount of fermentables in it though, so I'm not surprised it blew the airlock off. ^_^
6lbs of dark DME, 1cup Molasses/honey.
Fermentation was relatively slow yesterday, compared to the red beer we just did. apparently it was just a slow starter though.

There was a great story in eljay-homebrewing where someone shared an airlock blowoff that happened to him while brewing a strawberry wheat... seems that when the airlock went, there was something of an explosion that covered the entirety of the closet with red goo... which bled out of the closet on his white rug. Hilarious and horrifying.

At any rate, it's not always necessary, but it can be a good idea for beers with a lot of fermentables or yeasts that are particularly fast acting. (Some of the dried ale yeasts will finish in 2-3 days. That's just crazy!)

Say nothing, but I bought goods to make the house bitters on Monday. Should be brewing tonight barring some other distraction. (RotK extended was so very tasty.)

I've heard of fruit doing that pretty regularly. much more rare with standard brews, but I guess this one just had plenty going for it. ^_^
