Political assassinations in the US. Great.
Not new, sure, but it looks like the discourse in this country is going downhill even faster than I thought.
Congresswoman "targeted by Palin" for removal from office, shot in the head.

I'm guessing I'll be making a lot of posts with this icon in this upcoming political season.

You know, the thing that weirded me out, all throughout TransMet was how naively optimistic it was. The entire plot, conflict, escalation, and resolution all revolved around the point that if the truth got to the press---the moment the truth got out, even---people would change their minds and act and vote differently.

The whole time I was reading it, I kept thinking it was a sort of futuristic setting for a quaint 19th century story. :-/
