Is the 120 only saved for "special" knock you on your ass occasions?

There very much is and they only sell it as a 4-pack.

I'm interested in trying it, but I'd be afraid it would go to waste. Maybe I'll pick up a 4-pack and bring it to Ry's new place as a house-warming present. This way if I don't like it I can abandon the other three and I know they won't go unloved.

I've never seen it sold in packs actually. the 90 minute is sold in 4 packs I think, the 120 singly.

You are right I was thinking of the 90 which is in the 4 packs and the 120 on it's own.

Have you ever had Midas Touch Golden Elixir? Reading about it on their website it sounds fantastic.

It seems alike a lot of the information on their website is old as they all have 2007 release dates.

yeah, they rarely keep their site updated.
Midas Touch is definitely an interesting brew, I can never quite decide what I think of it. Lots going on with that one, and definitely worth a try if you've never had it.

Is there a place you know of in the area that sells it?

I made beer and mead for years so it sounds very interesting and well worth a try.

downtown wine and spirits in Davis has it sometimes, as well as the one in porter square (I think).

Goes for about $7-10 per 12oz bottle, and worth every penny (occasionally).

120 IBU might be a bit too bitter for me. I tend to be more of a sweeter drink fan, but I'm working on expanding my horizons.

Well it's also 20% abv, so you don't notice the bitter so much... ^_^

agreed. also, if you can find a 120 that's been aged, it's a lot less bitter. last summer i had a 1 year old bottle of 120 at the brewpub in rehobeth that was much sweeter than i expected. with it's high alcohol content, it was almost more like a liqueur.

this reminds me i need to raid the case of things i've had aging in my closet...
