hmm... interesting tidbit off of slashdot.
"(side note: toxicity occurs at 2-4 grams of caffeine in humans, so drinking espresso by the mug is potentially life threatening, by the third mug.)"

mental note: stop drinking mugs of espresso.

Yes, but there's MORE caffeine in a regular coffee than in espresso! It just tastes stronger.

I'm twitching just thinking about that...

On the other hand, studies have shown that moderate (read: rational) amounts of caffeine 1) are not addictive, 2) don't dehydrate you, and 3) measurably improve mental acquity.

So, maybe drop the mugs of espresso... but stick with the caffeeeeeeeeine!

and 1-3 cups of coffee in the morning helps with circulation and, in men, helps prevent diabetes (adding sugar, naturally, counteracts this).

I have a family history of heart disease and diabetes.

Morning coffee for me, please!

Also, body toxicity levels can be raised with tolerance, so if you're used to drinking espresso by the mugful, you might be able to get away with more. You might also want to see an orthodontist, see if they can do anything about restoring those teeth you've ground away. Just switch to sudafed, man, it's easier.

Yes, absolutely!

Oh, and coffee is also a major source of anti-oxidants (the major source for many Americans who eat no veg.. but, still).

Yay for healthy caffeine!

How many grams of caffeine are in typical caffeinated beverages? I would have thought the amount would be measured in milligrams, but I don't know much about chemistry...
