Boston-area folk:
Need a good electrician for condo work who won't do shit like wire unit #2's basement light switch on the circuit switched by our switch.
Advice?

Angie's List?

I can ask my sister who she had work on our pantry wiring. I only know she found him via Angie's List.

I hear [livejournal.com profile] lsl knows a good electrician. I don't have the contact info yet myself, or I'd pass it along.

We swear by Gibbons Electric: http://www.gibbonselectric.com/. They did all the electric work in our condo when we remodeled the kitchen and dining room, plus some other odds and ends while we had them in anyway. They were incredibly polite, left the place cleaner than they found it, did exactly what we asked, and did it well. I know lots of other folks around here use them too.

plus that way you have Gibbons working on your wiring, which is safer than Monkeys... ;)

[livejournal.com profile] rmd's brother is a good electrician; I don't have contact info or know if he's available. [livejournal.com profile] electrictruffle, who is himself an impeccable electrician (but lives on the west coast now) recommended Dan Smith a couple years ago, (857) 452-6091.

We've had some solid work done by Mike Trachtenberg, who is both an electrician and an Arisia-goer, (978) 265-8037. Mike's not a general contractor -- if you need plaster work done to cover up the work, you're better off paying someone else (or doing it yourself).

That is, Mike's happy to rip holes in your walls, and is good for that, but you want to *also* hire someone else to do the plasterwork.
