Wow, very interesting guy.
"Black" kid raised by white family (mother was pregnant with him when they got married), and was always told he was a white kid with a skin condition. (link)
Read all five pages, it's worth it.
Fascinating, and slightly disturbing, story.

I believe the father over the mother from what I read there, I must admit, I come down on his side - mainly from her comments like "he's no longer part of our family" whereas his father's accepted him (or at least it reads like he has).
