Since I was about 16 I've wanted a music related tattoo at some point. I even have a pretty set idea of what it should be, though I'm not quite sure what the line style should be. Today for the first time I've gotten the desire for a different piece... inspired by this video. (Trigger warning, visual drug references.) Not going to post details of my thinking yet, but there's something swirling there.

In doing a bit of research I stumbled across this guy's ink, which is possibly the sweetest backstory and most awesomely music nerdly ink I've seen: Paul J. Hermann.
So very cool.

Oooh, I'm looking forward to hearing more about this.

That's a well made video!

Neat! I got so into the video, though, I kept forgetting to look for the ink. :)

Since shortly after my Surly tattoo, (Apr of 2011, I think?) I've known what I wanted my next one to be. And lately I've been getting the urge to go get it done.

The flowers are in bloom, and the Somervillian's hearts turn to ink...

Megan & I both have work from Redemption over on Mass Ave and they're quite good. And I've seen good things from the Pino Brothers shop as well.

So, I think I saw what you saw, and I am deeply intrigued. Happy to bounce around ink ideas any time.

As for places, I went to Ram's in JP, but the artist I worked with isn't there any more. Lots of excellent folks there, though.

I had a bit of an unfortunate experience with someone at Ram's.

If you get a chance, pick up Science Ink (or leaf through it here next time you come over). I don't think it's got any music in it, but it's all about the awesomely nerdy tattoos.
